Emerging Leader: Gavyn Stebbins
WMDT – It’s Monday and that means it’s time to introduce you to a new emerging leader.
Gavyn Stebbins is an Easton High School student and one of 24 students who received the 24 Maryland: Emerging Scholars Award!
The award highlights the achievements of students who excel in STEM, leadership, or community service.
This morning, Gavyn stopped by Good Morning Delmarva to tell us more about his educational success.
We’re told that a student from each county is chosen to be awarded.
Gavyn says that being a part of the Boy Scouts and the Civil Air Patrol has helped him develop leadership skills.
He’s had the opportunity to lead groups of climbers over three mountains as the senior patrol leader.
He wants to study political science with a focus on international relations in hopes of becoming a diplomat one day in the future.

If you know someone who you think would be perfect for our emerging leader’s segment, please send us your recommendation at newsroom@wmdt.com
