DSP arrest man for home improvement fraud, theft

SUSSEX CO., Del. – A Maryland man has been arrested for home improvement fraud following an investigation in Sussex County.

The investigation began in October 2024, involving 26-year-old Dylan Crew, operating under the business name Coastline Contractors Group, LLC. The investigation revealed that Crew allegedly signed contracts with six victims to do residential renovations and other construction. It was determined that Crew received over $1 million in payments, and in all cases, the projects were never completed.

Detectives obtained arrest warrants for Crew, who turned himself in to Troop 4 last week. He was subsequently charged with three counts of home improvement fraud by false impression $100,000 or more, two counts of home improvement fraud by false pretense $1500 or more victim is over 62 or impaired/disabled, home improvement fraud $1500 or more, three counts of theft where property value is $100,000 or more, theft $1500 or greater victim is over 62, theft $1500 or greater victim is over 62 or impaired/disabled, and theft $1500 or more.

Crew was later released on a $132,000 unsecured bond.
