Delmar golfs beats Milford on career day from Leitner
SEAFORD, Del. – Delmar and Milford golf squared off at Hooper’s Landing Golf Course in Seaford on Thursday.
Teams competed with six golfers each, playing double-par plus one.
They split evenly into three groups of four (each group comprised of two golfers from either team), and with a shotgun start each group played nine holes.
Once the round was finished, teams added up the four lowest scores from their golfers, and the team with the lowest total took the match.
Milford was led by a golfer in their 1st group, senior Noah Marcelle, who shot a 40 on the day.
For Delmar it was Landon Leitner, in their 2nd group, who had the best day of anyone on the course. Leitner shot a 37, a self-proclaimed personal best for the wildcat senior.
Delmar won the match over Milford 167 to 184. The wildcats golf team is now 2-0 on the season, with Milford falling to 1-1.
