Chincoteague gets ready for Easter Decoy & Art Festival
CHINCOTEAGUE, Va. – The island of Chincoteague is gearing up for its 44th annual Easter Decoy & Art Festival.
The event brings together talented artists, passionate collectors and guests from near and far.
It’s all to celebrate the artistic and cultural traditions of Chincoteague and the Eastern Shore.
The two-day festival will showcase the work of 75 decoy carvers, painters, photographers, jewelers and more, allowing for a chance to admire the pieces or art or purchase them.
Participants can also take part Wooden Egg Auction and see decoy and artist demonstrations.
“It’s just a great opportunity to see the local and national talent that comes to Chincoteague each year and to take home a treasure, people come specifically for one artist and they buy something from them each year or they come to discover something new that they haven’t seen before,” said Joanne Moore, Executive Director of the Chincoteague Chamber of Commerce.
Get in on the fun April 18th from 12 to 5 pm and on the 19th between 9 and 4 pm at the Chincoteague Combined School. That’s located at 4586 Main Street.
Admission is 5 dollars per day with children under 12 getting in for free.
