Caroline Co. garage fire under investigation

DENTON, Md. – A Denton garage fire that broke out late Sunday morning remains under investigation.

Officials say the fire was reported just before 11:30 a.m., at 26299 Sennett Road. Firefighters battled the blaze, involving a garage attached to a single family home, for approximately 40 minutes before bringing it under control.

Maryland State Fire Marshals determined that the fire began on a work bench in the garage. Several electronic appliances and lithium-ion batteries were reportedly on the work bench, and the fire resulted in the total loss of high valued industrial equipment that was being stored in the garage. Total damage was estimated at $700,000.

The cause remains under investigation.
