Cambridge holds off Snow Hill in thrilling 1A East II Regional Final
CAMBRIDGE, Md. – Cambridge-SD was able to hold off Snow Hill 64-61 Thursday night in Cambridge.
The Vikings were able to dominate in the first and second quarter keeping the Eagles at bay. By the end of the half Cambridge, had a comfortable lead over Snow Hill, 34-25.
In the third quarter Snow Hill was able to turn it up a bit and close the gap, taking the quarter over Cambridge 18-13. The Eagles tried to claw back in the fourth quarter, but the Vikings were able to hold off the Eagles and preserve a three-point lead in the end.
Semaj Pinder lead the team in points for the Vikings with 18, with Koby Ennals not far behind with 12. After the game we talked to Semaj Pinder about his performance:
“I knew my teammates trusted me from the start, they saw I had the hot hand,” said Pinder. “They were doing a good job spacing the floor and cutting so I could dish it off to them. I knew they (Snow Hill) were gonna come hard to play. We just had to come even harder. They fought hard but we had to fight harder.”
Cambridge-South Dorchester claims the 1A East II Regional Title and advances to the state quarterfinals.
