Worcester County Commissioner Chip Bertino against Senate Bill 292

WORCESTER COUNTY, Md. – Senate Bill 292 is stirring up division across the entire state of Maryland.

The bill would mean traffic violations would restrict law enforcement from making traffic stops over minor offenses.

This includes driving without a turn signal or having an unregistered license plate, among other things.

Worcester County Commissioner Chip Bertino believes this move will limit law enforcement.

“Again, curtail law enforcement across the state. Quite truthfully, our legislature has many more things to deal with, like a multi-million dollar budget deficit.”

Currently, nothing has been put into law.
