SALISBURY, Md. – A man convicted of murder in Wicomico County has been sentenced to life with all but 25 years suspended.

Jeremy Gentry pleaded guilty in December to first degree murder and will not be eligible for parole consideration until he has served 20 years in prison.

On May 5, 2024, Fruitland Police officers responded to 220 Sandcastle Boulevard for a report of a non-breathing subject. The victim, 68-year-old Beatrice Gentry, was found in a bathtub with a large amount of blood. Following an autopsy, her death was ruled a homicide, and cause of death was determined to be multiple injuries including blunt force, cutting, and stab wounds.

Jeremy, the victim’s son, later admitted to killing his mother.
