Wicomico Co. Executive vetoes controversial kennel bill

WICOMICO CO., Md. – Wicomico County Executive Julie Giordano has announced she is vetoing the recent legislative bill involving kennel owners.

Giordano announced the veto of Legislative Bill 2025-01 Monday morning, citing multiple reasons for the veto. The primary reasons for the veto she says are that no existing kennel can comply, it would cause unfair financial and logistical burdens, negative economic and community impact, and lack of consideration for existing businesses.

She adds that she feels better solutions should be explored.
