Virtual Town Hall addressing community concerns
MARYLAND – On February 12, a virtual town hall was held to discuss recent federal changes and community concerns.
Delegate Sheree Sample-Hughes, representing District 37, says that in these unprecedented times, it’s important to address pressing issues. During the meeting, they plan to address Governor Wes Moore’s proposed budget, avian flu, and public utilities.
Delegate Hughes says in attendance to address these concerns will include Senator Van Hollen, The Department of Agriculture, Delmarva Power, Chesapeake Utilities, and Choptank Electric.
She says they also plan to provide some information on the status of grant funding and federal employees, and if they don’t have an answer, they will have a resource.
“We’ve had issues in the past in the community and I’ve had meetings with them right there in their community, in the church, in the American Legion, I’m in session now and for the most part everyone has access to Zoom, and so I know that this would be accessible, but it would also equip them with the information that they need. ”
The link to event can only be given via email so if you wish to attend the virtual town hall form 6:00 to 8:oo pm, email Delegate Hughes to get the link. or more information.
