Viola man arrested on felony drug charges
FELTON, Del. – On Friday, January 31, 2025, around 11:37 a.m., the Felton Police Department conducted a traffic stop in the 100 block of West High Street within the town limits of Felton. During the investigation, officers discovered that the driver had 11.3 grams of crystalized methamphetamine, along with drug paraphernalia found in the passenger compartment of the vehicle.
The driver, identified as 57-year-old Joseph H. Scott of Viola, Delaware, was arrested without incident. He was transported to the Felton Police Department for processing.
Scott has been charged with the following offenses: Manufacture/Delivery/Possession With Intent to Deliver (PWID) Controlled Substance Tier 2 Quantity (Class C Felony), Possession or Consumption of a Controlled or Counterfeit Substance without a Prescription (Class B Misdemeanor), and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia not Related to Marijuana (Class B Misdemeanor).
Scott was arraigned at Justice of the Peace Court #2 and released on a $6,025 unsecured bond. He is scheduled for a future court appearance.
