The Point at Cape Henlopen State Park to close for season March 1
LEWES, Del. – The Point at Cape Henlopen State Park will close for the season this Saturday, March 1st.
This includes a stretch of ocean and bay beach. This is an annual closure for the benefit of threatened and endangered beach nesters and migratory shorebirds, including piping plovers, American oystercatchers, least terns, red knots, and other species.
The area on the ocean side with reopen to the public on September 1st, with the bayside beach remaining closed until October 1st.
