Taylor’s BBQ reports boom in business following PETA protest
SALISBURY, Md. – Taylor’s BBQ in Salisbury says business is booming after PETA decided to protest outside their establishment earlier this week.
On Monday, the animal rights group parked their “Hell on Wheels” truck outside the restaurant to protest the slaughtering of pigs. Since then, the restaurant is reporting a boom in business.
The restaurant has seen a huge increase of first time customers following the protest, according to Taylor’s BBQ owner Joseph Calabresi who’s also very thankful for the community support.
“The community support for our business is huge, and that’s part of the fun of being a small, local business is being in the community and just providing a community experience for everybody,” Calabresi said. “It was really neat to see how everybody rallied behind us and we’re continuing to get people coming in for the first time and trying Taylor’s BBQ, so it was a really awesome boost and we love it and love to see it.”
Following our initial report on the PETA protest, community members took to social media to rally around the restaurant, vowing to visit soon to support the business.
Calabresi says they were confused as to why PETA chose them of all places. But nevertheless, they’re thankful for the increase in business and look forward to continuing to serve the community.
