Stolen vehicle recovered following hit-and-run in Milford
MILFORD, Del. – Milford Police say a hit-and-run investigation led to the recovery of a stolen vehicle last week.
At around 6:45 p.m. on February 1st, officers were called to a reported hit-and-run crash in the 900 block of SE Front Street. It was learned that the suspect vehicle allegedly hit several fixed objects, causing damage.
A short time later, police responded to a report of a suspicious vehicle in the unit block of Meadow Lark Drive, in the Meadows of Shawnee Development. Police say it was reported that the vehicle had heavy front-end damage associated with the previous accident and that a woman fled from the vehicle. Further investigation revealed that the vehicle was stolen out of Dover.
Officers were able to find the suspect, identified as 35-year-old Staci Weldon. She was charged with receiving stolen property over $1500, resisting arrest, possession of drug paraphernalia, criminal mischief under $1000, and several traffic violations. It was also discovered that she was wanted by Delaware State Police and had several court capias for his arest.
She was held on an $11,000 cash bond and a $5,201 secured bond.
