State of Emergency lifted in Dover following investigation into potential cyber breach

Dover Council Explores New Security Measures At City Hall Image

DOVER, Del. – The State of Emergency issued for Dover last month will expire on Thursday.

The declaration was made in late January due to a potential cyber breach. We’re told the City has conducted a thorough investigation to ensure the integrity of its systems and has confirmed that there has been no unauthorized access to the city’s network or systems.

Mayor Robin Christansen says the City remains committed to ongoing improvements in security and infrastructure.

“I apologize for any inconvenience this situation may have caused our residents, staff, and vendors. We understand the impact these measures may have had, and we appreciate your patience and understanding as we worked to resolve this matter. We are dedicated to maintaining the trust of our residents and will continue to enhance our systems to ensure security. With the expiration of the State of Emergency today, we consider this matter closed, but we will remain proactive in protecting our systems,” Christiansen said in a statement.
