Selbyville man charged with impersonating a police officer, harassment
SELBYVILLE, Del. – A Selbyville man has been charged with impersonating a police officer.
According to police, a report of a suspicious vehicle came in shortly before 8:30 p.m. Wednesday, on Laurel Road near Millsboro Highway. The victim reported that he was driving eastbound on Nine Foot Road, east of Laurel Road, when a white Dodge Magnum with Arizona registration allegedly pulled behind him and activated flashing red and blue lights. As the victim started to pull over, the Dodge passed him and continued driving.
The victim later saw the vehicle pull into the Royal Farms in Dagsboro and subsequently parked at a distance to call 911 with the report. A short time later, the driver of the Dodge pulled up next to the victim and reportedly verbally confronted him. The victim did not engage, and the suspect eventually left the area.
Troopers were called to identify the suspect as 19-year-old Blayden Rose. Troopers contacted Rose by phone, who agreed to come in to Troop 4 for questioning. When Rose arrived, troopers saw red LED lights positioned above the rear windshield of his vehicle.
Rose was subsequently charged with impersonating a police officer and harassment, and was later released on his own recognizance.
