Seaford man arrested on numerous charges in stolen car
SEAFORD, Del. – A Seaford man is behind bars on numerous charges following a traffic stop Tuesday afternoon.
At around 1:15 p.m., a trooper on patrol saw a Toyota Camry with North Carolina registration driving eastbound on Old Furnace Road near Sandy Ridge Drive, learning through a computer check that the vehicle was reported stolen in Pennsylvania.
After stopping the car, the trooper made contact with the driver, 49-year-old Roy Nichols. Nichols allegedly showed signs of impairment and was taken into custody. During a search of Nichols’ person and the Camry, troopers found approximately 9.53 grams of cocaine, approximately 1.03 grams of crack cocaine, approximately 0.39 grams of heroin, $1,450 in suspected drug dealing money, and drug paraphernalia.
Nichols was subsequently charged with possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance, possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance in a tier 1 quantity, receiving stolen property over $1500, two counts of possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, and DUI. He was held at SCI on a $14,700 secured bond.
