SBY local to host media literacy program

SALISBURY, Md. – Want to learn healthy media literacy skills? A Salisbury local is teaching just that.

Organizers said the program will cover how to watch the news and consume social media content with a neutral eye.

Michael Lankford is hosting the 5-week media literacy workshop, which he hopes to use to help locals learn how media shapes thoughts, actions and society. He encouraged anyone who is interested to join him at the Wicomico County Library to take part in the discussion.

“If you feel like you hear the word ‘Unity’, but you don’t know how you could ever find it in this climate, then media literacy skills, honing that, being in a discourse with other adults around this, I guarantee you will give you a better sense of connection,” Lankford said.

The program kicks off on March 2nd in room 1 of the Wicomico Library. Each course is from 1:30-2:30PM.
