Salisbury University holds Centennial Ice Cream Contest
SALISBURY, Md. – In honor of its upcoming centennial celebration, Salisbury University in connection with Island Creamery is creating a unique community opportunity to their own “flavor” to the Shore!
Celebration
The creamery contest is where residents can submit suggestions for ice cream names and/ or flavors that represent Salisbury University. The winning flavor will be featured at Island Creamery locations throughout SU’s Centennial celebration.
Contest
Spokesperson for Salisbury University Jason Rhodes says the most promising flavors will be taste-tested at an event in the spring and there is more than one way to win. “The contest is to name the name of the ice cream, and the flavor of the ice cream. So, if you pick a name that ultimately gets selected you get a prize for that, if you pick the flavor that ultimately gets selected you get a prize for that.”
Combinations
Island Creamery worker Tori Pietuszka already has a combination in mind! “Like a cosmic brownie flavor, where you take like our dark chocolate and put those little rainbow pieces in it, and then maybe like brownie chunks too.”
The contest ends on April 1st, so if want to participate and win a sweet prize click the link for more information. Island Creamery is open 7 days a week 11:00- 9:00 p.m. at 306 Dogwood drive in Salisbury, MD.
