Salisbury man arrested following chase through Seaford
SEAFORD, Del. – A Salisbury man was arrested in Seaford earlier this week on gun and drug charges.
At around 11 p.m. Tuesday, troopers were called to assist Seaford Police in finding a Nissan Rogue that fled from an attempted traffic stop. Troopers saw the vehicle speeding eastbound on West Stein Highway and also tried to pull it over, but it allegedly sped away and drove in a reckless manner on several Seaford area streets and roads. The vehicle then reportedly crashed into a marked State Police Tahoe on Sussex Highway near Cannon Road. The suspect vehicle continued driving southbound in the northbound lanes of Sussex Highway before eventually coming to a stop following the utilization of stop sticks.
The driver, 28-year-old Steven McCormick, was arrested, and a search of his person and vehicle led troopers to find a 12-gauge shotgun and ammunition, approximately 5.1 grams of heroin, approximately 350.73 grams of marijuana, digital scales, and $76 in suspected drug money.
McCormick was held at SCI on a $238,506 cash bond on numerous gun, drug, and traffic charges.
