Salisbury home heavily damaged in weekend fire
SALISBURY, Md. – Maryland State Fire Marshals say an issue with an oil furnace caused a house fire in Salisbury Saturday evening.
The fire was reported just after 7 p.m. at 110 Cloverdale Street. Crews battled the 2-alarm blaze for approximately one hour before bringing it under control.
Investigation determined that the fire was caused by an unknown failure with the oil furnace in the basement of the home. Two cats unfortunately perished in the fire, and a third was injured.
Total damage has been estimated at $150,000. The occupants are being assisted by the American Red Cross.
