Road rage incident leads to multiple charges for Magnolia woman
DOVER, Del. – A Magnolia woman was arrested late last week on charges stemming from a road rage incident in Dover.
Shortly before 4 p.m. Thursday, Delaware State Police responded to a reported road rage related assault in the area of North Dupont Highway and West Denney’s Road. It was learned that the suspect, identified as 24-year-old Zoey Hickman, was taken into custody by a Cheswold Police officer.
Further investigation revealed that a Volkswagen Jetta being driven by Hickman and a Ford F-150 were involved in a road rage incident on North Dupont Highway. Following the incident, the two vehicles stopped next to each other in traffic, at which time the victim, who was the front passenger in the Ford, and Hickman reportedly started arguing. During the argument, the victim got out of the Ford and stood next to the Jetta. Hickman then got out of the Jetta but reportedly failed to put it in park, leading the victim to jump into the Jetta to put it in park. Hickman then allegedly grabbed the victim and threw her to the ground.
The victim, a 73-year-old woman, was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment of her injuries.
Hickman was arrested, and police also learned that her driver’s license was suspended. She was subsequently charged with second degree assault and driving while suspended, and was released on a $10,100 unsecured bond.
