Residents of Milton are getting ready to decide their next town Mayor

MILTON, Del. – Milton residents will soon elect their next Mayor. Incumbent Mayor John Collier will face current Vice Mayor Lee Revis-Plank. WMDT spoke with both candidates to see how they are campaigning, as they head to March 1st.

Voters elected Mayor John Collier in 2022, and he’s excited about the opportunity to campaign and compete. “It seems to me, that she’s just in the election to offer people a choice. I know my work-ethic, and I know the time and effort I put into this.”

Vice-Mayor Lee Revis-Plank’s decision to run against him was because of open communication. She feels the town needs more transparency. “My personal style is a little different, I tend to be more transparent, share spreadsheets in public.

Each candidate aims for election, promising to prioritize financial stability, local business, and traffic solutions. Mayor Collier urges residents to vote for him, because he loves Milton, and will work hard for the town.

“I would say you would be hard-pressed to find anybody in this town. I have attended more town council meetings, planning and zoning meetings, and historic preservation commission meetings. Those are just the big ones I have in the last 20 years.”

Revis-Plank has similar goals, but more importantly, wants community members to have a choice.

“You have an opportunity to have a voice in your government, and take advantage of that. Step up to the plate and vote for the person who fits your beliefs and personality the best.”

Polls will open on Saturday, March 1st. You can make your vote at the Milton Fire Department, between hours of 8 a.m. and 6 p.m.
