Pair arrested on drug dealing charges in Dover
DOVER, Del. – Dover Police say they arrested two people on drug dealing charges Friday afternoon.
Just after 4 p.m., officers stopped a vehicle on Route 1 in the area of Dover Air Force Base regarding an ongoing drug investigation. During the stop, police say the passenger, identified as 24-year-old Jaimere Harrison, reached over the center console, turned the vehicle on, and tried to press the gas pedal with his hand in an attempt to get away. Officers were able to deploy a tire deflation device, causing the vehicle to become disabled.
Harrison and the driver, 21-year-old Kemya Dennis, were taken into custody, and a search of the vehicle led to the recovery of 1,315.7 grams of cocaine and suspected drug money.
Harrison was charged with possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance in a tier 3 quantity, possession of a controlled substance in a tier 3 quantity, resisting arrest, and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was held at SCI on a $103,000 cash bail.
Dennis was charged with possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance in a tier 3 quantity, possession of a controlled substance in a tier 3 quantity, possession of drug paraphernalia, and driving at an unsafe speed, and was released on a $41,500 unsecured bail.
