Pair arrested for robbery in Millsboro
MILLSBORO, Del. – Two men are behind bars following a reported robbery in Millsboro Tuesday afternoon.
Troopers were called to the 20000 block of Lucky Lane for a reported robbery, learning that the 15-year-old victim had been communicating through a social media app with someone he reportedly believed to be his cousin. The victim had arranged to sell sweatshirts to the person and agreed to meet up to conduct the sale.
A short time later, two men arrived at the victim’s home in a green Kia Soul. The victim got into the vehicle, at which point one of the suspects allegedly pointed a handgun at him and hit him in the head. The victim was able to escape from the car, while the suspects fled with the stolen sweatshirts.
The victim sustained minor injuries but did not need hospitalization.
Troopers found the Kia Soul in the parking lot of a gas station a short time later and subsequently arrested the suspects, identified as 18-year-old Jyair Freeman and 18-year-old Tizonn Trotter. Inside the vehicle, troopers found a loaded handgun and the stolen sweatshirts.
Freeman was charged with first degree robbery, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, possession of an untraceable firearm, second degree conspiracy, and third degree assault. He was held at SCI on a $44,000 secured bond.
Trotter was charged with first degree robbery and second degree conspiracy and was held at SCI on a $21,000 secured bond.
