OPPD cracking down on traffic violations
OCEAN PINES, Md. – The Ocean Pines Police Department is cracking down on traffic offenses.
The department issued 125 tickets since its last board meeting, including 36 speeding violations and 38 for stop sign or traffic control light violations.
Chief of police, Tim Robinson said they are able to tackle this public safety issue because of an increase in staffing, which helps them cover more area in the community.
“A lot of it has to do with the augmentation of our staffing. We have two new officers that are fully on board now, that have graduated academy, finished their training and they’re out there assisting with these enforcement efforts,” said Chief Robinson.
