MDOT continuing cleaning efforts post snowstorm

MARYLAND. – With the snowstorm moved out, Maryland crews are working to clear up the remnants.

The Maryland Department of Transportation pretreated the roads before the storm, making for better roadway conditions, Wednesday.

Maryland Highway Administration spokesperson, Charlie Gischlar said their brining and plowing efforts paid off, and now they’re just
clearing the way for the upcoming rain we’re expecting.

“Crews, what they’re working on now is pushing back the shoulders, making sure you get the full width of the roadway, making sure the drainage systems are operational, they’re not clogged with snow or ice,” said Gischlar. “We are due some rain the next couple of days, including later today, and we don’t want any ponding of water on the roadway.”
