Mardela man convicted of sexually abusing minor

SALISBURY, Md. – A Mardela man has been convicted of sexually abusing a minor.

Earlier this week, following a two-day jury trial, 37-year-old Lorenzo Buggs was convicted of sex abuse of a minor, third degree sex offense, two counts of fourth degree sex offense, two counts of second degree assault, sexual solicitation of a minor, and inducing a victim from reporting a crime.

During the summer of 2024, Buggs sexually abused a minor under the age of 15, inducing the victim to not report the crime to authorities and to lie about the sex abuse he inflicted.

Sentencing has been deferred pending a mandatory presentence investigation and mental health assessment.
