Local doctor addressed RFK, Jr.’s comments on African- Americans and vaccinations

MARYLAND – Robert F. Kennedy Jr. was questioned by the Senate Health and Human Services Committee earlier this month, hoping to secure his nomination as health and human services secretary.

Maryland Senator Angela Alsobrooks, who’s is against his nomination, questioned RKF, Jr. about comments he made in 2021 concerning Vaccine schedules for black or African Americans.

He stated studies out of Poland suggest African Americans have different antigens, therefore, have different reactions to vaccinations, and should’ve been vaccinated differently.

Dr. Sally Dowling, Vice President of Medical Affairs at Atlantic General Hospital says it’s concerning when doubt is cast on vaccination efficacy. “The studies done on vaccinations are thorough and use a large population of diverse ethnic backgrounds… Vaccination compliance is very important, not only for individual health and protection from disease, but also as a community.”

The decision on whether Robert F. Kennedy will be the HHS Secretary date of the vote has yet to be decided.
