Fenix Youth Project will not accept $500 donation from Market Street Inn

SALISBURY, Md. – The controversy regarding the local restaurant, Market Street Inn, accused of making racially charged remarks.

The Fenix Youth Project, an organization that supports homeless youth, is refusing donations from the eatery.

While organization leaders are grateful for the bartenders and DJs, they will not accept the donation.

The Fenix Youth Board of Directors provided WMDT with a statement.

“Now more than ever, it is important to stand in solidarity and integrity. We hope the community continues to support the Fenix Youth Project as we work to uplift and advocate for marginalized youth.”

WMDT reached out to Market Street leadership, and while they don’t support the comments made. They have fired the employee accused of making them and plan to take them to court.
