Emerging Leaders: Keon Caison and Giomar Tellez

WMDT – It’s Monday and that means it’s time to introduce you to two new emerging leaders!

A team of Delaware State University business students recently won the FICO Analytic Challenge Competition for their AI model.

The team won $6,000 for developing a way for AI to detect fraudulent transactions on credit cards.

We sat down with Keon Caison and Giomar Tellez who tells us they learned a lot from this amazing experience.

They say they’ve made great relationships with their peers, were exposed to real world issues, and were able to improve their resumes.

Tellez says she has personally been impacted by credit card fraud and she’s glad she had an opportunity to solve a problem many people can relate to.

Caison says this was a big opportunity for them to network which brought him out of his comfort zone.

They both say they would love to have this experience again and they encourage others to try out new things.

If you know someone who you think would be perfect for our emerging leader segment, send us your recommendation at newsroom@wmdt.com
