Dover teen charged in connection to January shooting

DOVER, Del. – Delaware State Police say they have arrested a juvenile in connection to a shooting last month.

The incident happened at around 8:30 p.m. on January 18th, in the 200 block of Gunning Bedford Drive, in the Rodney Village community. It was learned that unknown suspects fired shots that subsequently hit the residents. The two adults inside the home at the time of the incident were not injured.

Further investigation led detectives to identify one of the suspects involved in the shooting as a 17-year-old male from Dover. The teen was charged late last week with possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, possession of ammunition by a person under the age of 18, possession of a deadly weapon by a person under the age of 18, two counts of first degree reckless endangerment, second degree conspiracy, and criminal mischief.

He was subsequently held at the Stevenson House Detention Center on a $50,000 secured bond.

The incident remains under investigation.
