Dover boy’s basketball pulls away from Central to seal home victory
DOVER, Del. – Sussex Central boy’s basketball gave Dover a scare on Wednesday night the final game of their regular season, with the senators ultimately pulling away late to secure a victory on their home court.
A low-scoring first half saw the knights leading 17-13 through 2 quarters. Jay’den Lewis provided 12 of Central’s 17 points on four made threes just in the 2nd quarter.
With the game tied at 34, Dover’s Chase Little hit a buzzer-beating three to end the 3rd quarter, giving the senators a 3-point lead heading into the final period of play.
Dover took control down the stretch, holding Sussex Central to 6 points in the 4th quarter while scoring 15 themselves. Dover won with a final score of 52-40.
