Delmarva residents head outside to shovel, clean off cars
POCOMOKE CITY, Md. – At 6:30 Thursday morning, it was go time for Penny Butler.
She was out before the sun was, working to clear off all the snow from her car with, not a snow brush, not a broom, but a leaf blower.
“I wanted to get out before the wind started too bad, and get a head start on it,” said Penny. “I saw it was so soft and everything, that’s why I’m using my blower, trying to get most of it off.”
Here in Pocomoke City, the early bird doesn’t just get the worm, they also get a head start to clearing out their driveway.
“It’s not so bad. I get up early anyway, and getting out here really doesn’t take long to do, so cleaning off the cars is the biggest problem, probably,” said David Strauss.
But it’s a problem you have to deal with if you have to leave the house. While Strauss isn’t too bothered by the snow, Penny has warmer days on her mind.
“I go to Aruba in about 100 days and stay there for 3 weeks, so I’m ready for that,” said Penny.
