DelDOT crews brining roads ahead of wintry mix

DELAWARE – DelDOT crews are out and about ahead of the wintry mix we’re supposed to receive Wednesday night into Thursday morning.

They’ll be pre-treating the roads to help cut down on the amount of icing that could take place over that span of time.

DelDOT Director of Community Relations C.R. McLeod said they’ll be brining Tuesday night and Wednesday.

“If you’re going to be out late Wednesday and into early Thursday, it may look like the road surface is just wet when in fact it could most likely be icy and we’re just encouraging everyone to slow down, adapt your driving to the conditions, leave plenty of space between you and other vehicles as certainly there could be icy conditions through Thursday morning until temperatures come back up above freezing,” said McLeod.

McLeod also said be mindful of DelDOT crews and give them plenty of space to work.
