Delaware State Police holding Trooper Youth Week in June

DELAWARE – The Delaware State Police and the American Legion will be hosting the 52nd Annual Trooper Youth Week in June.

The program is for high school sophomores, juniors and seniors interested in a career in law enforcement.

It gives them a chance to see what a police recruit would go through at the Delaware State Police Academy.

During the program, participants will engage in physical training, as well as a variety of law enforcement-related classroom instruction.

“This is important for law enforcement because we want to reach out to those students who have that serious interest in a career in law enforcement and it exposes them to a little bit of the training that they would receive as a police recruit,” said Master Cpl. Lewis Briggs with the Delaware State Police.

Trooper Youth Week will take place June 16th through the 20th.

The deadline to submit an application is Friday, May 23rd.

You can find an application on the Trooper Youth Week website.
