Decatur takes down Wi-Hi for the second time in one week

BERLIN, Md. – Stephen Decatur boy’s basketball pulled away from Wi-Hi in the 2nd half of Saturday afternoon’s matchup.

The game was a rematch from Tuesday, when the seahawks beat the tribe 70-49.

Wi-Hi kept it close for much of the game, the score tied at 17 after the first quarter.

A three-pointer from Wi-Hi’s Julian Culley brought the tribe within 2 points, making the score 36-34 with 4:40 remaining in the 3rd quarter. From that point Decatur outscored Wi-Hi 29-17, winning with a final score of 65-51.

Wi-Hi was led by Tyson Hayward and Tay’Shaunn Swann, who scored 22 and 12 respectively. For the seahawks, Davin Chandler score 23 points, with Noah Tucker adding 16 and Judah Carmack throwing down a couple dunks that brought the crowd to its feet.
