Cape boys basketball advances to quarterfinals on the road against Seaford

SEAFORD, Del. – Cape Henlopen boys basketball pulled out a victory on the road against Seaford on Thursday night, punching their ticket to the DIAA quarterfinals.

Seaford started the game with hot three-point shooting, building a 20-11 lead by the end of the 1st quarter.

Cape responded in the 2nd quarter, heading into halftime with the game tied at 27.

The teams traded blows after the break, until a three-pointer followed by a steal and slam from Cape sophomore Geordan Downing shifting momentum in the favor of the vikings.

Cape led 45-40 heading into the 4th and was able to pull away for a 56-46 victory. The vikings advance to the DIAA quarterfinals where they will play Sanford on March 1st at Dover High.
