Cambridge man arrested after alleged assault
CAMBRIDGE, Md. — A 29-year-old Cambridge man, George Nash Briscoe, was arrested late Thursday after allegedly assaulting a victim earlier that morning. According to the Cambridge Police Department, officers responded to a physical disturbance at the 400 block of Charles Street around 12:30 a.m., where the victim reported being pushed, strangled, and struck several times in the face by Briscoe. The victim’s injuries were consistent with the assault.
An arrest warrant was issued, and later that evening, at approximately 10:38 p.m., officers returned to the residence. After a K9 unit was deployed, Briscoe surrendered. He was taken into custody without incident and transported to the CPD for an initial appearance.
Briscoe is being held at the Dorchester County Department of Corrections without bond. A female subject at the residence, identified as 39-year-old Chaqunita Renay Turner, was also present but was not arrested.
