Burnish Beer Company hosted the Comic Beer Con for community members
SALISBURY, Md. – The Burnish Beer Company held their 3rd annual Comic Beer Con, for local artisans and vendors. The event was themed after three words, ‘comic books, anime, and celebration. Marketing Manager for Burnish Beer, Brenna Mills, said that community events are one of the company’s missions.
“We’re in our brewery, our warehouse, and our taproom, so we love to have local people come out to support our community. It gives everyone a chance to meet and connect, and that’s one of our favorite things about vendor events.”
Downtown businesses were there, and Nicole Blackwater appreciated getting the chance to socialize with community members. “It’s a fun event, there’s a lot of great local vendors, we are excited to have good food, and we love to have a collaboration of this type.”
The Ocean City Comic-Con’s return is planned for later in 2025. Coordinator James Dufendach believes Beer-Con is a unifying event for people of diverse backgrounds.
“It sort of brings people, who don’t normally do comic-con in, because you’re going to come do brunch, you’re going to get beer, and your kids can do face painting. It’s a very interesting thing that brings people to nerdom, and I love that.” Dufendach hopes more events like this happen in the future
“I think more events are better. I think the more events we have, the more boats get floated. We got Hawk-Con coming up next month at UMES, we have Anime Ocean City coming up at the convention center, the same place Ocean City Comic-Con is happening on December 13th and 14th.”
The Burnish Beer Company will hold its next event on Saturday, February 8th, for a ‘Sip n Shop’ for Valentine’s Day.
