Big Brother, Big Sister of the Eastern Shore is looking for mentors

EASTERN SHORE, Md. – The Big Brothers, Big Sisters of the Eastern Shore, is looking for volunteers to become mentors.

The program helps children realize their potential by providing mentoring, enrichment, and resources.

Currently, over 100 children are on waitlists for mentors. Fundraising Coordinator Alison Wright tells WMDT that it’s important to take time out of your day and lead children who need extra support.

“Our requirement is 4 hours a month, people split it into 2-hour sessions every other weekend, and some spend way more time with their littles. They become more like family, so it depends on how much you want to put into it, and we encourage low-cost activities.”
