Worcester Co. traffic stop leads to recovery of suspected drugs

BERLIN, Md. – A Delaware woman was arrested in Worcester County early Thursday morning after a traffic stop led to the recovery of suspected cocaine and heroin.

According to police, at around 12:30 a.m., a Maryland State Police trooper stopped a Kia passenger vehicle traveling south on Route 113 at Route 90 for speeding. During the stop, the trooper reportedly learned that the driver, identified as 39-year-old Maria Garcia of Greenwood, Delaware, had an outstanding warrant through Delaware.

Garcia was subsequently arrested, and a search of the vehicle led to the recovery of suspected cocaine and heroin, in addition to a taser.
