Wicomico Public Library offers ‘Project Read’ program to help residents become better readers
SALISBURY, Md. – Reading levels have been down across the United States in the school system. In Wicomico County, over 17,000 adult residents read below a 3rd grade level.
Due to this, the Wicomico Public Library is offering the ‘Project Read’ program. This complimentary, confidential, individual tutoring session will facilitate the development of fundamental literacy skills among adults.
WPL, Community Support Manager, Christi Richardson hopes this helps those who need it. “This program aims to catch people that might have fallen through the cracks coming up from the school system, and push them up to better opportunities.”
