Traffic stop in Milford leads to recovery of ghost gun
MILFORD, Del. – Milford Police say a traffic stop earlier this week led to one arrest.
The investigation began at around 1 a.m. Tuesday, when officers stopped a vehicle in the area of North DuPont Boulevard and North Street Extended. During the stop, officers conducted a K-9 scan of the vehicle, which led to a positive alert for narcotics. A subsequent search of the vehicle led to the recovery of a loaded handgun, marijuana, and non-prescribed oxycodone pills. It was further determined that the handgun was an untraceable firearm, or a “ghost gun”.
The passenger, identified as 20-year-old Keion Chappell, was taken into custody and charged with multiple firearm and drug offenses. He was held on a $62,101 cash bond.
