Three arrested in string of vehicle break-ins, thefts in Talbot Co.

Policelights

TRAPPE, Md. – Talbot County Sheriff’s Deputies say they have made three arrests in connection to a string of vehicle break-ins in the Trappe area.

The investigation began on December 30th, when deputies responded to the 3800 block of Seymour Drive for a reported attempted vehicle break-in during the early morning hours. Investigation revealed that around midnight, three men wearing all black clothing and masks entered or tried to enter numerous vehicles and stole several items of value in the La Trappe Heights community.

At around 5 p.m. that same day, deputies were called to the area of Harrison Circle for suspicious activity. A citizen reportedly told police that they saw three male subjects in black clothing with masks looking into vehicles in the neighborhood. Deputies located the three subjects, who were determined to be the same subjects who committed the early morning vehicle break-ins. All three subjects reportedly fled and went into a residence in the 3900 block of Main Street, barricading themselves inside. A short time later, deputies were able to contact the three subjects, identified as 18-year-old Nihjay Greene, 18-year-old Aamad Turner, and a 16-year-old juvenile. Police say Greene assaulted a deputy as he was being detained.

A search and seizure warrant was obtained and executed, leading detectives to find evidence linking the three to the break-ins in La Trappe Heights, as well as a vehicle break-in in the Town of Easton in early 2024.

Greene was charged with second degree assault on a police officer, resisting arrest, obstructing and hindering, fourth degree burglary, rogue and vagabond, theft under $100, and malicious destruction of property. He was initially held without bond but later released on a $5,000 unsecured bond.

Turner was charged with obstructing and hindering, fourth degree burglary, rogue and vagabond, theft under $100, and malicious destruction of property less than $1,000. After initially being held without bond, he was later released on a $2,500 unsecured bond.

The juvenile was charged with the same offenses as Turner and released to a guardian.
