The Town of Berlin plans to re-allocate funds from its General Fund Balance
BERLIN, Md. – The town will take $2.7 million and funnel that into other avenues in the community.
That includes reserves like the Capital Reserve and the Police Law Enforcement Officers Pension System Reserve.
Town Administrator Mary Bohlen told WMDT these funds are like rainy day money, to be set aside when the town might need them most.
“We’re reallocating to several funds. You can call them rainy day funds, they are there in case a disaster hits or some type of financial hardship. Those funds have protected amounts available.”
