The Talbot Interfaith Shelter is helping rehabilitate the unhoused vulnerable population.

EASTON, Md. – January is Poverty Awareness Month, and the Talbot Interfaith Shelter continues to help those in need.

The group offers programs that help the homeless rehabilitate. The goal is for them to get a second chance to rejoin society.

The shelter uses this pathway for the un-housed to improve their current situation by giving them resources, food, and shelter.

They also require their residents to attend classes daily.

Though Easton’s initial reaction to TIS was lukewarm, the city ultimately embraced the organization for its dedication to aiding the needy.

Executive Director Julie Lowe said the group has a concept for each resident. “We’re a shelter with a program, we’ve developed the S4 program, which stands for shelter, support, stability, and success.”

Talbot Interfaith Shelter will host a lip-sync battle with their residents on April 26th.
