The Salisbury Police Department is working on the 2026 budget

SALISBURY, Md. – The Salisbury Police Department is already working on its 2026 fiscal year budget. The department will need these funds to maintain the station and improve the technology needs.

SPD will work with the Salisbury City Council and Mayor Randy Taylor to approve funding.

Chief of Police David Meinschein knows this is one of the most critical times of the year.

“When you think about it, we’re like every other business. Although we’re in law enforcement, we have to keep the lights on, we have to keep the heat on, we still have to keep fuel in the vehicles, in addition to keeping up with technology to reduce crime in the area.”

The Salisbury Police Department is looking to help engage the community in hopes of showing themselves beyond the badge.
