Sussex Preservation Coalition to host community panel discussion
SUSSEX COUNTY, Del.- The Sussex Preservation Coalition is getting the community informed on local government.
The coalition is hosting a panel discussion on February 11th, where Senator Russ Huxtable and State Representative Claire Snyder Hall will explain the ins and outs of local government, and attendees will learn how issues in the community are impacted by policies and legislation.
SPC president, Jill Hicks encourages all who are curious about the democratic process to join in on the discussion.
“If the citizens are aware of what’s going on around them– like why they see so much development, or so many forests being clear cut– it’s important for them to understand why that happens, where those decisions are made, who has the authority,” Hicks said.
The panel will be held from 7-8:30PM at the Lewes Library. If you can’t make it in person, you can find the link to join virtually on the Sussex Preservation Coalition’s Facebook page.
