Sussex County Clerk of the Peace prepares for weddings ahead of Valentine’s Day

SUSSEX COUNTY, Del. – Love will soon be in the air with Valentine’s Day approaching, and it’s also a time where many couples consider the possibility of marriage.

If that’s something you and your significant other are considering in Sussex County, you should know the Clerk of the Peace’s Office stands ready to help.

The office is responsible for issuing marriage licenses and conducting ceremonies, which is something Clerk of the Peace Jay Jones says they can do just about anywhere in the county.

“We have a very nice ceremony room that’s very small and very, very nice,” Jones said. “But, we also go out if available, do beach weddings, weddings at people’s residences and different locations. We stay pretty busy offering that service.”
